Anton Zeller

Anton Zeller (born February 23, 1760 in Scherzingen TG ; † after 1836 ) was a German painter and court painter in Neustrelitz .

Life

Zeller probably came to Neustrelitz in 1794 and was court painter to Duke Karl II of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in 1797 . In 1797 he married in Neustrelitz. From 1801 to 1803 he studied in Dresden. Here he copied old masters such as Guido Reni (for example the painting by Beatrice Cenci ) or Anton Raphael Mengs ( Amor ). It then went to Switzerland and was listed in the Mecklenburg-Strelitz state calendar from 1808 to 1836 with the note absent . He probably died in Switzerland.
