Anton Alexander Albrecht Freiherr von Perfall (born December 11, 1853 in Landsberg am Lech , † November 3, 1912 in Schliersee ) was a Bavarian writer about homeland and hunting.

family

Anton von Perfall came from an old Bavarian noble family . His father Max Freiherr von Perfall was district administrator, royal Bavarian treasurer, entertainer and landowner at Greifenberg Castle on Lake Ammersee, his mother Amalia, nee. Countess of Holstein. In 1877 he married the Vienna-born actress Magda Irschick (1841–1935).

Life

After attending the St. Stefan humanistic high school in Augsburg, Perfall first studied the mountain subject at the Polytechnic in Munich, but soon switched to studying philosophy and history at the University of Munich . Perfall was reciprocated in 1873 in the Corps Franconia Munich , of which his father was an honorary member. Most recently he returned to studying mining in Freiberg / Saxony. After his marriage to court actress Magda Irschick, he accompanied his wife for several years on her art tours through Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and the United States. After his return he settled as a freelance writer on his property on the Schliersee. He wrote short stories , sketches, articles in magazines and numerous novels , including the hunting novels Der Jagdteufel (1899), Jägerblut (1907) and Baronin Burgl (1913). At the end of the 19th century he was one of the most famous hunting writers in German-speaking countries. Some of his books were also published in Danish translation at the time.

In 1904 Perfall was appointed Royal Bavarian Councilor.
