Antonella Ghignoli

Antonella Ghignoli (born May 14, 1963 in Pisa ) is an Italian medieval historian .

Ghignoli studied palaeography , diplomacy and medieval history at the Universities of Pisa , Leipzig and Florence and at the École française de Rome (Section Moyen Age). As a full Ricercatrice Universitaria , she had lectureships in Latin palaeography , manuscript studies and diplomacy at the Universities of La Tuscia-Viterbo (2001-2006) and Florence (2006-2011). She has been working at the University of Rome -La Sapienza since 2011 . She is a member of the editorial team of the online journal for palaeography and diplomacy Scrineum. She is a member of the scientific advisory board ( consiglio scientifico ) of the Istituto Storico Italiano per il Medio Evo in Rome. With Wolfgang Huschner and François Bougard , she publishes the Italia regia series , which is published by Eudora Verlag in Leipzig. She lives in Rome.

She dealt early with the possibilities of hypertext in the auxiliary historical sciences . In 1999 she published a critical overview of the German-language network offer at the time. Under the title Le discipline editoriali: paleografia, diplomatica, codicologia , in 2003 she published a general introduction to paleography, diplomatics and codicology with a compilation of the network resources of the time in Reti Medievali . She has been working in the Charter Encoding Initiative since 2004 .
