Antonellus Alsatian
Antonellus A. Elsässer OFM (born September 25, 1930 in Kirchhausen ; † July 18, 2014 in Dietfurt an der Altmühl ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .
Life
Elsässer joined the Bavarian Order Province of the Franciscan Order in 1950 . After studying philosophy and theology, he was ordained a priest in Munich in 1956. He was prefect at the seminary in Bamberg and chaplain in Munich. After a doctorate, he was in Munich in 1967 with a thesis on the ethics of Bonaventura to Dr. theol. PhD. He then taught at the Franciscan University in Munich. In 1969 he received a call to the chair of moral theology at the Philosophical-Theological University and later Catholic University of Eichstätt . From 1987 to 1989 he was dean of the theological faculty. In 1998 he retired.
At the same time he worked as a pastor in Pfalzpaint near Walting (1972–1982) and as a parish administrator in Preith (1982–2010). As a retiree, he had lived in Neumarkt since 2010 and was involved in the pastoral care of the parish of Our Lady.
