Antonio Ortega Franco

Antonio Ortega Franco CO (born December 22, 1941 in Empalme Escobedo , Mexico ) is a Mexican religious and emeritus Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Mexico City .

Life

Antonio Ortega Franco joined the religious order of the Oratory and the auxiliary bishop in Mexico, Francisco Orozco Lomelín , ordained him a priest on November 24, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Lete and auxiliary bishop in Mexico on February 11, 2004 . The Archbishop of Mexico, Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera , donated him episcopal ordination on March 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rosendo Huesca Pacheco , Archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, Puebla , and Giuseppe Bertello , Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico .

On February 16, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Antonio Ortega Franco's request for resignation for reasons of age.
