Antonov Airlines recorded five incidents in its history:

  • On September 16, 1991 an Antonov An-74 (registration number СССР-74002) had an accident while taking off from Lensk airfield en route to Omsk airport . The plane was overloaded and crashed 4 km later. The six crew members and seven passengers were killed.
  • On October 13, 1992, the second prototype of the Antonov An-124 (registration number СССР-82002) crashed on a test flight from Kiev-Hostomel airport due to a bird strike . One of the nine crew members was able to save himself, the rest were killed.
  • On July 6, 1994, an Antonov An-32 P fire-fighting aircraft (registration number UR-48018), which was used at Valencia Airport , had an accident . Five of the six people on board were killed.
  • On February 10, 1995, the prototype of the Antonov An-70 crashed on a test flight from Kiev-Hostomel Airport. The plane collided with its escort aircraft, an Antonov An-72 , and crashed. All seven crew members were killed.
  • On September 5, 2004, an Antonov An-12 (registration number UR-11765) had an accident when it shot over the runway .
