Antony Hamilton (actor)
Antony Hamilton (born May 4, 1952 in Liverpool , † March 29, 1995 in Los Angeles ) was a British film actor .
Life
Born in England, Hamilton was by an Australian couple adopted and grew up in Adelaide on. He established himself as a dancer in Australian ballet before becoming a model in Europe and the USA . Soon afterwards he was discovered by the director Harry Hurwitz , who engaged him in 1979 for his film " Dracula on the wrong track ".
After taking on the male lead in Samson and Delilah in 1984 , he was hired to replace the late Jon-Erik Hexum for the television series Fashion, Models and Intrigue . Before Pierce Brosnan took on the role of James Bond , Antony Hamilton was also in discussion. There are two versions of why Hamilton didn't get the role: on the one hand, producer Albert R. Broccoli would have spoken out against a “blond-haired” Bond, or both Hamilton and Broccoli would have agreed that Hamilton's homosexuality was not conducive to the role. Hamilton continued his acting career in television series including " Twilight Zone ", " LA Law - Star Attorneys, Tricks, Litigation " and " On A Secret Mission ".
Antony Hamilton died of AIDS at the age of 42 .
