Choricarpie
Chorikarpie (also apocarpy ) is a term from botany and describes the free and non-overgrown position of several individual carpels on flowers of the covered plants. In this case the totality of the carpels , the gynoeceum , is called apo- or chorikarp. Chorikarpe Gynoeceen are often found in representatives of the monocotyledonous plants and in certain families of the eudicotyledons such as the buttercup family or the magnolia family . But a unique carpe is also possible, -carpellate Formation of a gynoeceum with only a single carpel.
With increasing evolutionary development of the flowering plants, the intergrowth of the individual carpels increased and coenocarp Gynoeceen formed .
