Apostolic Nunciature in Rome

The Apostolic Nunciature in Rome is the diplomatic representation of the Holy See as the subject of international law towards Italy and San Marino .

The Apostolic Nunciature , which represents the Holy See in both countries under international law , is located in the Villa Giorgina in Rome 's Salario district . The current Apostolic Nuncio is Monsignor Emil Paul Tscherrig .

The nunciature was established as a diplomatic representation after the conclusion of the Lateran Treaty on February 11, 1929. In October 2018, the bones of a man who died before 1964 were discovered on their premises , and police investigations are ongoing.
