Aradac [ ˈarad̪at͡s ] ( Cyrillic Арадац, Hungarian Aradi , Slovak. Aradáč , German Aradatz ) is a place in the Serbian Banat , about 6 km west of Zrenjanin and 50 km east of Novi Sad . Aradac is a typical lowland village and is located in the Pannonian Plain . The place belongs to the administrative area of the city of Zrenjanin.
history
Aradatz was first mentioned in 1723 on the Mersijev map. The first entries can be found in the Pope's books from the years 1332 to 1337 under the name 'Arad'. In the middle of the 18th century, the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Archangel Gabriel was built in Aradac .
Residents
The 2003 census showed 3,443 residents. Of these, around 1,650 were Serbs and 1,380 Slovaks, the rest are distributed among other ethnic groups (Croats, Slovenes, Hungarians, Romanians, Macedonians, etc.)

School system
The Bratsvo Aradac school is responsible for basic education . It is taught in Serbian and, since 1954, also in Slovak . The school has 14 independent departments; the two pre-school groups form a combined department.
Sports
The sports club "ASK" was founded in 1959 by the union of the Serbian club Slavija and the Slovak club Janošik . The club has its own stadium with a covered grandstand and changing rooms. In addition to the sports club, there has also been a heavy athletics club called Superman since 1984 . The Aradac karate club has existed since 2000 .
Infrastructure
The village is supplied with water from a 91 m deep well.
Excursion locations
As Aradac is close to the Tisa River (7–8 km), it is a popular destination for the locals.
Churches and religious institutions
There are four parishes in Aradac. The most popular is the Slovak Evangelical, followed by the Serbian Orthodox, the Baptist and the Nazarene Church.
