Ardita Statovci

Ardita Statovci (born March 2, 1982 in Pristina , Kosovo ) is an Austrian pianist.

Life

Ardita Statovci began classical piano training at elementary school age in her hometown of Pristina (Kosovo). She studied at the Primary Music School with Hadije Gjinali and at the Secondary Music School "Prenk Jakova" with Lejla Pula.

From the age of 14 she gave solo concerts and at the age of 15 was accepted into the Academy of Arts of Pristina. At the end of the 90s she moved to Austria and studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Christoph Lieske. This was followed by appearances as a soloist with orchestra, solo and chamber music evenings in Austria, Hungary, Germany, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Switzerland, Kosovo, Croatia and France. Her talent was promoted by the Gesellschaft für Musiktheater (since 1997) and the Rotary Club Salzburg (2005), and Statovci received a scholarship from the International Mozarteum Foundation.

In 2005 Statovci was granted Austrian citizenship and was the winner of the selection game of Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now in Salzburg. In 2006 she was also able to win the Bösendorfer Prize . She completed her master's degree at the Mozarteum (piano as a concert subject) in December 2007 with distinction.

In April 2008 she released her first CD, which contains live recordings of works by the composers Johannes Brahms , Ludwig van Beethoven and Henri Dutilleux . Since 2009 she has been a "Young Steinway Artist". In October 2010, a piano recital in Goldegg Castle was recorded by ORF and broadcast on the radio. In 2011 she represented Martha Argerich at rehearsals for Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major under the direction of Claudio Abbado .

Her repertoire ranges from Bach to Haydn , Mozart , Beethoven and Schubert to Gershwin and Ligeti and includes more than 30 composers.

Ardita Statovci has received the following awards so far:

  • Scholarship from the International Mozarteum Foundation
  • Winner of the selection game by Yehudi Menuhins Live Music Now, Salzburg, 2005
  • Winner of the Bösendorfer Prize, 2006
  • Fohn grant (a grant for particularly talented artists in Austria), 2008
  • one-year scholarship from the Austrian Federal Ministry for exceptional achievements as a graduate of the Mozarteum University, 2008–2009
  • Young Steinway Artist since 2009
