The Argo SpA (proper spelling ARGO ) is a group of companies with headquarters in Fabbrico . It is owned by the Italian Morra family. The turnover in 2015 was 461 million euros and around 1,800 people are employed.

history

In 1987 Pegoraro, a manufacturer of tillage machines, was taken over.

1994 Argo acquired the majority of shares in Landini from Massey Ferguson . A year later, Argo also acquired Valpadana .

When New Holland and Case Corporation merged to form CNH Global , they had to sell their Doncaster plant and the McCormick brand, which was then taken over by Argo. The Doncaster plant closed in late 2007.

In 2001 the Italian Laverda SpA was taken over, which in turn took over the Fella works in 2004 . In 2007 the tractor production was merged into the newly founded subsidiary Argo Tractors SpA. Since 2007, Argo has shared ownership of Laverda - and thus Fella - in a 50 percent joint venture with AGCO . At the end of 2010, AGCO announced its intention to buy the remaining shares in Laverda and thus also the Fella-Werke. This purchase was completed in March 2011. In 2018, a plant was built in a joint venture with the Anadolu Group in the Turkish district of Çayırova .

In addition, tractors from Argo Tractors are also sold by the Brazilian agricultural machinery manufacturer Stara and the Argentine agricultural machinery manufacturer Vassalli Fabril using badge engineering . Stara tractors are based on McCormick ranges, while Vassalli Fabril tractors are based on Landini ranges.
