Arkadiusz Onyszko (born January 12, 1974 in Lublin , Poland ) is a Polish football player .

Club career

Onyszko began his professional career at Zawisza Bydgoszcz , where he made his debut in the Polish Ekstraklasa when he was only 17 years old . In 1994 he moved to the Polish top club Legia Warsaw . Here, however, he was only a reserve and spent a season on loan from Polonia Warsaw . After returning to Legia Warsaw, he was again only reserve goalkeeper. For the 1994/1995 season he finally moved to the league competitor Warta Posen . Here he played regularly and thus aroused the interest of the better-known city rival Lech Posen . In 1996 he moved to Lech and was the undisputed number 1 in goal. After another season with Widzew Łódź in the Ekstraklasa, Onyszko moved to Denmark to Viborg FF in 1998 . In Denmark things went very well for him from the start. For Viborg he played a total of six seasons in which he was always the goalkeeper. In 2004 he moved to Odense BK within the Danish league .

He was fired from the Odense BK after he was arrested on March 2, 2009 for grossly injuring his wife and sentenced to three months in prison on June 24, 2009. After his release he signed a contract with FC Midtjylland on July 4, 2009 . There he played with an electronic ankle cuff as a result of his suspended sentence. On November 2, 2009, FC Midtjylland Onyszko announced that he would be terminated without notice. He had written in the autobiography “Fucking Polak” published on the same day: “I hate gays, I really do. In my opinion, it's so damn gross when they talk to each other like they're girls. I can't be in the same room with a gay man. [...] I've never met a gay on a soccer team. That would also be impossible. ”In a press release, the board stated that the statements were incompatible with the basic values of the association. On November 18, 2009 he signed a three-year contract with Silkeborg IF . However, this was dissolved again in January 2010. Onyszko then returned to his Polish homeland in January and signed a contract with Odra Wodzisław from Loslau in Upper Silesia.
