Arkaik is an American technical death metal band from Riverside County , California that was formed in 2004.
history
The band was founded in 2004 by Chance Strickland (electric guitar) and Jared Christianson (vocals). After various changes in the line-up, they found another permanent member in Eric Cohen (electric bass / backup vocals). Together they began to write lyrics and work out the first songs. Some time later, Craig Peters (electric guitar / backup vocals) also joined the band. After a few changes in the occupation of the post, Keith Roylance was accepted as drummer in the band.
The band reached a contract with Pending Records , recorded their first album called Existential Chaos on this label and released it on April 1, 2007. In 2009, the band released a promo CD, whereby the band signed a contract with Unique Leader Records could achieve. This was followed by appearances with bands such as Dying Fetus , Decrepit Birth , Necrophagist and Suffocation . In July the band entered SeahorseSound Studios with producer Samur Khouja . There they recorded the album Reflections Within Dissonance . The album was mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studios . Bassist Eric Cohen left the band after the band's first US tour in August 2010. Ivan Munguia (also bassist for Brain Drill ) became the band's new bassist. The band then went on tour with The Black Dahlia Murder . In June 2011, drummer Keith Roylance left the band and was replaced by Alex Hernandez Bent in December. In 2012 the band went on a US tour with Severed Savior , which was followed by another along with Cannibal Corpse , Exhumed and Abysmal Dawn . She also released the next album Metamorphignition , which was recorded at Castle Ultimate Studios .
style
Arkaik's works are compared to those of other technical death metal bands like The Faceless . These are characterized by the high speed of the songs, the deep growling and the high level of playing on the instruments.
