The King Biscuit Blues Festival is an annual blues festival in Helena , Arkansas . The first edition took place in 1986 under the direction of the "Main Street Helena" organization, the aim of which was to enliven downtown Helena. From small beginnings, for example a truck was used as a stage at the first festival, the festival developed into an event lasting several days, attended by up to 100,000 fans of the blues. In 2005, the name was changed to the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival due to litigation . Since 2011 the festival has been taking place again under its original name.

The selection of the performing artists is based on the influence that Sonny Boy Williamson II and Robert Lockwood junior have on their work. The festival also includes arts and crafts events and events for children. Food and beer will be sold by street vendors during the festival, and around 400 volunteers ensure that the events run smoothly.
