The International Blues Festival Eutin , also called Blues Baltica , is a blues festival that takes place in Eutin , Schleswig-Holstein and is followed by around 15,000 spectators annually. It is an open-air event and takes place in the town square of Eutin. A special feature of the festival is the free entry.
Another special feature of the festival is the focus on musicians from the Scandinavian and Baltic regions. The first festival was held in 1989. The organizer is the Baltic Blues eV association
The activities within the framework of the festival also include the Blues @ School , in which international artists go to schools and perform there. In addition to the music, the focus here is also on conveying the socio-cultural backgrounds of blues music. Since 2008, the supporting program has also included exhibitions of photographs or paintings on the subject of blues. In 2011 there was a photo exhibition by Art Tipaldi, publisher of the US magazine Blues Revue , entitled The South & The Blues .
