Arlenis Sierra Cañadilla (born December 7, 1992 in Manzanillo ) is a Cuban cyclist who is successful on the track and road .

Athletic career

Sierre was three times Pan American champion, in 2011, 2013 and 2016 in the road race and also in 2013 in the team pursuit . At the World Track Championships in 2016 , she won the bronze medal in the points race . She won medals several times at Central American and Caribbean Games .

In 2016 Arlenis Sierra was nominated for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Together with Lisandra Guerra and Marlies Mejías , she prepared for her participation in the Center Mondial Cyclisme of the World Cycling Association UCI in Aigle, Switzerland . She took 28th place in the road race. In the same year she achieved further successes, for example by winning the Tour de Bretagne Féminin and the Vuelta Femenina Internacional a Costa Rica .

In 2018 Sierra won gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games in the individual time trial, a stage of the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l'Ardèche and the overall ranking of the Tour of Guangxi . In early 2019 she won the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race . In August of that year she won the elite women's road race for the second time at the Pan American Games , and she won the Giro della Toscana Femminile .
