Arlette Racineux (born March 2, 1961 in Saint-Nazaire ) is a former French wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Arlette Racineux started wheelchair tennis at the age of 27 and started in the paraplegic class .

She took part in a total of four Paralympic Games . In 1992 she was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Regina Isecke , in 1996 she lost to Janet McMorran in the first round . In the doubles competition she competed both times with Oristelle Marx , both times she won the bronze medal. In 1992 they won the bronze medal against Christine Blackmore and Janet McMorran, and in 1996 against Randa Hinson and Daniela Di Toro . At the 2000 Games in Sydney she only appeared in singles and was eliminated in the first round. In her fourth Games in 2008 in Beijing she reached the second round in singles. In doubles, she was in the semi-finals with Florence Gravellier , which she lost to Korie Homan and Sharon Walraven . The ensuing bronze match against Beth Arnoult and Kaitlyn Verfuerth they won in three sets.

In the world rankings she achieved her best placings with seventh place in singles on July 13, 1993 and fifth place in doubles on July 25, 1995. After the 2012 season, she ended her career.
