Armando Bortolaso

Armando Bortolaso SDB (born August 17, 1926 in Villaganzerla di Castegnero , Vicenza province , † January 8, 2019 in Lebanon ) was an Italian Roman Catholic religious and apostolic vicar of Aleppo .

Life

Armando Bortolaso ​​joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on July 15, 1953 .

On July 9, 1992, Pope John Paul II appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Aleppo and Titular Bishop of Raphanea . The Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Aleppo, Guerino Dominique Picchi, OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on October 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Néophytos Edelby BA , Archbishop of Aleppo , and Ignazio Bedini SDB, Bishop of Isfahan .

On November 21, 2002, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
