Arnbach is a district of the municipality of Schwabhausen in the Dachau district in Upper Bavaria .

location

The parish village is about four kilometers north of Schwabhausen. The Dorfbach, a tributary of the Glonn, flows through the place.

history

Arnbach was first mentioned in writing in the 9th century. There is evidence of a Hofmark in the village since 1442 , which later came into the possession of the Indersdorf Monastery . A Montessori children's house is now housed in the former Arnbach castle or monastery . The municipal edict of 1818 created the political municipality of Arnbach with its district of Grub . It was incorporated into Schwabhausen on January 1, 1972.

State road 2054 runs through the town . Arnbach has an S-Bahn station of the S2 on the Dachau – Altomünster line .

Architectural monuments

In the middle of the village is the historic St. Nicholas Church, which was first mentioned in 851 AD and was built in its current form in 1388, as well as the historic rectory from around 1780.

In the old parsonage there is also an antique, mechanical, church clock from the 17th century. Today there is also an employment agency in the rectory, through which you can make an appointment to visit this type of mechanism of this historic church clock, which can only be found twice worldwide. The original manufacturer is said to be today's agricultural machinery manufacturer Fendt .

Another defining building is the Arnbach Castle or Monastery .
