Arnd Klein-Zirbes (born August 26, 1970 in Bonn ) is the managing director of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts and publisher and author of several publications.

education and profession

Arnd Klein-Zirbes studied political science, sociology, history and educational psychology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . Under the direction of Friedrich Fürstenberg , he did his doctorate on Goetz Briefs .

From 1997 to 1999 he worked in the press department of the Representation of the European Commission in the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn. He sat in on the representation of the DIHK at the EU in Brussels and in the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York. From 1999 to 2004 he was responsible for public relations at the Rhine-Main Chamber of Crafts . Among other things, he campaigned against the amendment of the Crafts and Trades Code, which aimed at far-reaching liberalization and was operated by the red-green federal government under Gerhard Schröder . From 2004 to 2008 he worked as a project director at Leipziger Messe for the building trade fairs . From 2008 to 2015 he was a member of the management of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce . There he headed the communications department and from 2009 set up the liaison office to IHK President Paul Bauwens-Adenauer .

Since March 2015, Klein-Zirbes has represented the interests of around 12,000 craft companies as the general manager of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts. In this function, he is also responsible for the operational business of the Akademie des Handwerks (AdH) and the Saarland's Trade Promotion and Technology Center (GTZ). He is a member of the Board of the Foundation Saarländisches crafts - Winfried E. Frank Foundation and other bodies such as the Broadcasting Council of the Saarland Radio .

Since taking office in 2015, Arnd Klein-Zirbes has implemented a strategic and operational realignment within the Saarland Chamber of Crafts. The Saarland Chamber of Crafts is planning to modernize its training facility. In addition, he pushed the expansion of their social media activities. One example of this is the YouTube channel “Mach Dein Ding!”, Which received the Saar Marketing Award 2017 from Marketingclub Saar eV.

Journalistic activity

Arnd Klein-Zirbes published, among other things, in Transparency of the Media , The Self-Employed , Frankfurter Rundschau , Deutsches Handwerksblatt , Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung and in the members' magazine IHKplus. As managing director of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts, he is responsible for the Saarland regional edition of the Deutsches Handwerksblatt for Saarland, which has a circulation of 12,000 copies (as of August 2018). Since taking office, the Chamber of Crafts of the Saarland has published the Master Plan for Crafts annually, which contains the essential demands of the craft on the Saarland state policy.
