Arne Martin Aas (born July 7, 1931 in Oslo , † April 3, 2000 ) was a Norwegian actor and director who worked for theater, film and television.

Aas made his debut in 1957 as a student at Trøndelag Teater in Strindberg's Erik XIV . Since 1963 he worked at this theater and from 1963 onwards also directed various projects. In Trøndelag Teater he appeared in the plays Se deg om i vrede , What you want by William Shakespeare and played the leading role in the drama Brand by Henrik Ibsen. Aas worked from 1966 to 1970 and 1973 to 1975 at the Norwegian Fjernsynsteatret (television theater) from the NRK , where he played the role of Hans Nilsen Fennefoss in the series Skipper Worse . Aas also worked for a long time at the Oslo Nye Teater and where he took part in a number of different comedies, where he had his most famous appearance in the production of the play Dagen vender . From 1970 to 1973 he was the theater director of Trøndelag Teater and from 1978 to 1983 he was the theater director for the open-air play Spelet om Heilag Olav ( Olaf the Saint ) in Stiklestad in the municipality of North Trøndelag . In 1980 he was awarded the Stiklestad prizes for his production .

In the years before his death he had several guest appearances at the Nordland Teater .

Movie and TV

Aas made his film debut in 1964 in the film Alle tiders kupp . He then appeared in various roles in a number of many Norwegian films in the 1960s and 1970s. He had his best-known appearances in the film Smuglere in 1968 , in the crime comedy Skulle det dukke opp flere lik er det bare å ringe in 1970 and in the drama Rallarblod in 1979 . Aas was also known in Norway for his involvement in the remakes of the original Danish Olsen Gang . He played in the Norwegian Olsen Gang series of films , in two films , once in the role of driving instructor Larsen and once the financial broker Brock-Larsen .

Aas also had a number of appearances on television, for example in the 1968 miniseries Skipper Worse and in the television series Fleksnes together with Rolv Wesenlund . In the series Fleksnes he had his most famous appearance in the role of drinking brother Rødhette , in 1981 in the classic episode Rotbløyte and in 1974 as a hysterical doctor in the episode Det går alltid et tog . Arne Aas had his last role on television in 1998 in the short film Operasjon Popcorn .
