Arne Malsch

Arne Malsch (born April 29, 1972 in Hamburg ) is a German sports journalist and former basketball player . Malsch appears on television as a commentator and presenter at events in the sports of basketball, boxing and football. He was a national youth basketball player.

Player career

Malsch was a soccer goalkeeper and began playing basketball at SC Rist Wedel in 1983 , and won the German B youth championship with the club in 1988. In Wedel he played with Ingo Freyer . Malsch was a German national youth player and in the meantime also played for Bonneville High School in the US state of Utah . Injury problems set him back and ended his career in the junior national team. In the 1990s he played for Wedel in the center position in the 2nd Bundesliga . In December 1992, the basket system was damaged during the warm-up before a cup game against Walddörfer SV as a result of a dunking Malsch. The game could therefore not be played, his team lost without a fight. Later he won the German championship several times in the over 35 competition class with the senior team of the club .

Journalist career

Malsch worked for the Hamburg radio broadcaster OK Radio from 1993 to 1996 and later held various positions (commentator, moderator, editor-in-chief, field reporter, head of the service, process editor and contribution maker ) at Premiere, its successor Sky and Sportdigital . He made a name for himself primarily as a commentator and presenter at basketball, boxing and soccer events and was head of the Hamburg office of Sky Sport News HD . From April 2008 he hosted kicker.tv news, a daily football news program that was produced by Spiegel TV in cooperation with kicker magazine . In 2014 Malsch worked as a commentator and moderator for Telekom Basketball . From 2017 he was also one of the moderators of the weekday program Transfermarkt.TV on the Sportdigital broadcaster as well as on the reporting staff for the telecom broadcasts of the 3rd football league .
