Arnold Marti

Arnold Marti (born March 14, 1951 , legal resident Bettlach SO ) is a Swiss judge and jurist .

Life

Arnold Marti, who grew up in the canton of Schaffhausen , completed his law studies at the University of Zurich with a licentiate in 1976 and obtained his doctorate in 1985 under Ulrich Häfelin with a dissertation on the subject of "Administrative jurisdiction in the canton of Schaffhausen". Two years later he was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Schaffhausen. Based on his comments on Art. 5  f. Civil Code in Zurich comment he received in 1999 the Venia legendi for Heads of State and Administrative Law . In 2005 he was promoted to adjunct professor. At the University of Zurich, he gives exercises and lectures on building and environmental law .

Marti began his legal career after studying at the Cantonal Court of Schaffhausen. In 1977 he moved to the higher court as a clerk. He has been a member and vice-president of this court since 1987.

From 1987 to 1999 Marti was president of the cantonal appeal committee for unemployment insurance. Since 1987 he has been a member of the Bar Examination Commission and since 2002 President of the Regulatory Authority for the Legal System. As an appraiser and expert, he was particularly active in spatial planning law for various authorities (including in the RPG revision expert group and in the constitutional commission of the canton of Schaffhausen ).

Marti has published various articles on spatial planning, building and environmental law, including a textbook on environmental law together with Heribert Rausch and Alain Griffel . He has also contributed to various commentaries on the Federal Constitution, the Constitution of the Canton of Schaffhausen, the Spatial Planning Act and the Civil Code. He is also a member of the editorial committee of the magazine “ Umweltrecht in der Praxis ” and a member of the editorial team of the “ Zentralblatt für Staats und Verwaltungsrecht ”.
