Arnold Sjöstrand
Arnold Sjöstrand (born June 30, 1903 in Sundbyberg , Stockholm County , † February 1, 1955 in Malmö , Skåne ) was a Swedish actor and film director . He starred in over 30 films and directed several feature films himself, including the dramas Two Women or the Dangers of Love .
life and career
Born in 1903 in Sundbyberg in Stockholm County, Arnold Sjöstrand turned to film as an actor in the early 1930s. He made his screen debut in Erik A. Petschler's film Flickan från Värmland as Erik Björck. More than 30 other roles in Swedish cinema productions followed by 1955. Including in Alf Sjöberg's 1942 drama Himmelsspiel or in 1947 in the self-directed film Two Women at the Side of Eva Dahlbeck , for which he received a nomination at the Cannes Film Festival . Furthermore, in the 1950s in Rauschende Wasser directed by Ragnar Frisk, in 1952 in the drama ... and the woods are silent or as Dr. Almer in his production dangers of love . He has worked with directors such as Olof Molander , Bengt Palm, Gösta Werner and several times with Arne Mattsson .
Sjöstrand died on February 1, 1955 at the age of 51 in Malmö.
In addition to his film career, he has also been seen on stage as an actor, including in William Shakespeare's play As You Like It at the Malmö City Theater in Sweden.
