The aron quartett is a string quartet that was founded in 1998 by Ludwig Müller, Barna Kobori, Georg Hamann and Christophe Pantillon, four musicians working in Vienna. Her artistic career was decisively shaped by the members of the Alban Berg Quartet as well as by Ernst Kovacic and Heinrich Schiff . Other important impulses for her musical career came from Isaac Stern , Max Rostal , William Primrose , Mischa Maisky , Ralph Kirshbaum and Sandor Végh .

The aron quartett also performs together with artists such as Oleg Maisenberg , Bruno Canino, Philippe Entremont , Wenzel Fuchs , Sharon Kam and members of the Alban Berg Quartet. In 2002 the aron quartet was a guest in the Alban Berg Quartet's cycle at the Wiener Konzerthaus .

history

In the founding year, the Vienna debut took place, which received a great response from the public and the press. Since then - also in collaboration with Heinz Holliger , Heinrich Schiff, as well as members of the Amadeus , LaSalle and Alban Berg Quartet - a wide-ranging repertoire has been developed.

The intention of the aron quartett to devote itself not only to the examination of classical literature for string quartet but also to the works of the Second Viennese School led to the invitation in the founding year to create a cycle of its own at the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna as a Quartet in Residence , in which the aron quartet presents compositions from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

The aron quartett has so far performed lively concert activity through Europe, the USA, Mexico and Japan, as well as to renowned festivals ( Wiener Festwochen , International String Quartet Festival Prague, Biennale di Venezia , Schönberg Festival, Festival KlangBogen Wien , Festival Cervantino, Kuhmo Festival, Stresa Festival among others).

In 2001 the aron quartet made its debut at Carnegie Hall in New York and in 2002 at London's Wigmore Hall and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. 2004 at the Wiener Musikverein, where the quartet performed all of Korngold's string quartets and his piano quintet in 2007 in a four-part cycle . In 2008 the aron quartett founded the Schloss Laudon chamber music festival , which is particularly dedicated to composers who were persecuted under the Nazi regime. The quartet's 10th anniversary was celebrated in November 2008 with a very successful concert in the Vienna Konzerthaus . In 2009 the aron quartett was invited again to create a Haydn - Martinů cycle at the Wiener Musikverein and a 3-part Korngold cycle at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. A Schönberg cycle also took place in Vienna in autumn 2009 .
