Ewald Bilz

Arthur Ewald Bilz (born March 11, 1872 in Meerane ; † February 10, 1941 in Radebeul ) was a German publisher . He was the son of the naturopath Friedrich Eduard Bilz . He headed the Bilz publishing house and succeeded him as director of the Bilz sanatorium in June 1922 .

Ewald Bilz was the oldest surviving son of Eduard Bilz, who would later become a naturopath, born during his time in Meerane as a grocer. In 1889 he moved with the family to Dresden and in 1890 to Oberlößnitz , now part of Radebeul.

From 1893, Ewald Bilz was procurator at the FE Bilz publishing house in Radebeul, which his father had founded in 1888 and which published the Bilz book , among other things . He later became director of the publishing house.

In 1898 Bilz moved the publishing house to Leipzig , in 1899 he opened a branch in Paris and in 1900 one in London. Ewald Bilz published the Bilz book in a total of 12 languages.

In 1922, the year his father Friedrich Eduard Bilz died, Ewald Bilz took over management of the Bilz sanatorium. Ewald Bilz died in 1941. Ewald's youngest brother, Willy Johannes Bilz , who ran the Bilz light, air and wave pool , was also to take over the management of the sanatorium, but in the same year the Wehrmacht took over the sanatorium as a reserve hospital.
