Arthur Maurice Fishberg

Arthur Maurice Fishberg (also Arthur M. Fishberg , born June 17, 1898 in New York City , New York ; † January 20, 1992 ibid.) Was an American physician .

Life

Family and education

A native New Yorker Arthur Maurice Fish Berg, son of Maurice Fishberg and Bertha Cantor Fish Mountain, took after high school completion, the study of medicine at Columbia University in 1919 graduated it for Bachelor of Arts , in 1921 he became a Doctor of Medicine PhD .

Arthur Maurice Fishberg, a member of the Jewish religious community , married Irene Levin on June 16, 1933. He died in January 1992 at the age of 93.

Professional background

Arthur Maurice Fishberg was employed as an assistant doctor at City Hospitals after graduating . From 1926 he worked as an assistant doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital , in 1946 he was appointed chief doctor at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan , and in 1986 he resigned from this position. In addition, Fishberg served as a consultant at St. Joseph's Hospital, the Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, and Mount Vernon Hospital. He taught as Clinical Professor of Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine . In 1956 he was appointed President of the Dazian Foundation for Medical Research.

The recognized expert in the field of hypertension research , has been elected a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation , the American Medical Association , the American Heart Association and the New York Academy of Medicine. Arthur Maurice Fishberg has been awarded honorary membership of the Sociedad de Medicina Interna de Buenos Aires and the Sociedade Brasileira de Cardiologia.
