Arthur von Manteuffel (politician)

Arthur von Manteuffel (born September 6, 1815 in Redel , † May 20, 1893 in Redel) was a Prussian manor owner and politician .

Life

He came from the Pomeranian noble family Manteuffel and was a son of Johann Friedrich Wilhelm von Manteuffel (1781-1820) and Wilhelmine von Küssow († 1864).

Arthur von Manteuffel was the owner of the Redel, Zuchen, Groß and Klein Wardin estates in the Belgard district . In the Prussian army he achieved the rank of major . In 1868 Manteuffel became a member of the Prussian manor house , to which he belonged until his death in 1893, upon presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Kassuben .

In 1873 he was appointed Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John .

From 1841 he was married to Adelaide von Dossow († 1866). The couple had six children. One of his sons was the later lieutenant general Arthur Friedrich von Manteuffel (1850-1918).
