Conrad von Kleist

Conrad Adolph von Kleist (born April 4, 1839 in Tzschernowitz , Guben district ; † September 23, 1900 in Schmenzin ) was the owner of the manor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Conrad was the son of Wilhelm Bogislaff von Kleist and was taught on the parental estate. He passed the matriculation examination at Joachimsthalerstrasse school in Berlin, where he studied law . For several years he lived on Groß-Autz and Sirmeln in Kurland , which he inherited in 1858. As a prerequisite for this he had to become a Russian count. In 1861 he married Elisabeth, b. Countess of Medem , with whom he had a son and three daughters.

In 1867 he bought the Schmenzin manor in Western Pomerania from Theodor von Kleist , moved there and sold the Courland goods in 1870. In 1879 he became a Knight of St. John. He was a member of the district council in the administrative district of Köslin and from 1889 to 1892 in the Prussian House of Representatives . In the years 1874 to 1893 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency administrative district Köslin 4 ( Belgard , Schivelbein , Dramburg ) and the Conservative Party . In 1894 he became a member of the Prussian manor house , to which he belonged until his death, upon presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Kassuben .
