Moritz von Oppenfeld

Moritz von Oppenfeld (born May 3, 1858 in Reinfeld , Belgard district , † December 1941 ibid) was a German administrative officer, manor owner and member of parliament.

Life

Moritz von Oppen field studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the University of Leipzig law . In 1877 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . After graduation, he entered the Prussian civil service and became a government assessor in Stettin . He later became mayor of Cammin. In 1889 he resigned from civil service at his own request. He became Fideikommissherr of the Reinfeld manor and owner of the Nadrensee manor with 888 hectares .

From 1894 to 1898 Oppenfeld sat as a member of the Köslin 5 constituency (Neustettin, Belgard) in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the Conservative Party . In 1901 he became a member of the Prussian mansion for life on presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Kassuben . He was also a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania .

Oppenfeld was captain of the reserve. As a specialist in agricultural and nutritional issues, the University of Greifswald made him an honorary senator. Because of his Jewish descent, the National Socialists withdrew this honorary title from him. On October 19, 2000, the title was returned to him posthumously.
