The Yokoyama family gather to commemorate the death of Junpei, the older son who drowned in an accident 15 years ago. His father Kyohei, a retired doctor, and mother Toshiko are visited on this occasion by their adult children Ryota, who recently married a widow with a young son, and their daughter Chinami.
