Members of a sect modeled on the Aum sect sabotage the city's water supply and then commit collective suicide at a lake. The relatives of the victims meet on the anniversary of the mass suicide at this lake. They meet Asano, a former member of the sect who prepared to sabotage the water supply but was exposed at the last minute. He shows the relatives the hut in which they have prepared for the attack. The relatives spend the night there together and remember the deceased sect members. Sakata and Atsushi talk about Yūko, Atsushi's sister, who persuaded Sakata to flee with him the night before the attack.
