Aschnull is a place in the Eastern Styrian Riedelland , not far from Graz in Styria , and belongs to the village of Sankt Ulrich am Waasen in the municipality of Heiligenkreuz am Waasen in the Leibnitz district .

geography

The place is located about 20 kilometers southeast of Graz , in the hills that accompany the Graz Basin to the east. The place is about 3 km southwest of the municipality capital, 1½ km southeast of Ortisei.

The scattered Aschnull houses are spread over 400  m altitude on the eastern flank of the Kögelberg  ( 441  m above sea level ) above the valley of the Götzachach , which goes east to the Stiefing . The place has about 15 buildings.

history

Historically, the place belonged to the Waasen rule , which was held by the Counts of Plain in the Middle Ages . The castle is not far to the west below. Until the municipal structural reform in Styria in 2015, Aschnull belonged to the municipality of Sankt Ulrich am Waasen .
