The Asco is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It rises on the northwest flank of Monte Cinto (2706 m) and generally drains east to northeast through the Corsica Regional Nature Park . The source stream changes its name several times and is first called Ruisseau de Tighiettu , then Ruisseau de Stranciacone . After passing the village of Asco , the river is called the same and runs through the deeply cut and wildly rugged granite gorge Gorges de l'Asco . Near the hamlet of Ponte Leccia , on the municipal border between Piedigriggio and Canavaggia , the Asco flows into the Golo as a left tributary after 34 kilometers .
