Asdin El Habbassi

Asdin El Habbassi (born December 5, 1986 in Hallein ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

From 1993 to 1997 El Habbassi attended the St. Andrä elementary school in Salzburg . He then attended the European High School in Salzburg-Nonntal until 2001 and, from 2001, the Commercial Academy II in Salzburg, where he graduated in 2006 . After completing his military service in Salzburg, he studied business administration at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business . In addition, he has been a trainer and seminar leader since 2007, in 2007 he worked as an assistant at guest events at the Salzburg Exhibition Center , in 2010 he worked in key account management at DailyDeal.at, in 2010 he worked in product management at Salzburger Nachrichten .

During his school days he was already the regional chairman of the Salzburg Schools Union, and he was also the BMHS regional school spokesman in Salzburg . From 2009 to 2012 he was a member of the state board of the Young People's Party in Salzburg, as well as of the national youth board . From 2012 to 2014 he was regional chairman of the Young People's Party in Salzburg and from 2012 to 2017 deputy federal chairman. At the state parliament of the ÖAAB Salzburg in 2014 he was elected as the new chairman of the ÖAAB Salzburg. From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the National Council.

The native of Salzburg with Moroccan roots describes himself as a practicing and liberal Muslim who prays five times a day, does not drink alcohol and observes Ramadan . He was the first migrant to join the Austrian National Council for the ÖVP.
