Azerbaijani diaspora
Azerbaijani Diaspora is an ethnic community of Azerbaijanis abroad who have left Azerbaijan and are sometimes scattered over large parts of the world. There are around 150 Azerbaijani societies and organizations worldwide, which can be categorized according to various topics (e.g. dance, communication, politics, history). A state committee coordinates the cooperation and connection with the Azerbaijani diaspora.
Azerbaijanis in Germany

Germany is one of the countries in which the Azerbaijani diaspora is active. 8,500 Azerbaijanis are officially registered in Germany at the consular department of the Azerbaijan Embassy in Germany. According to unofficial information, the total number of Azerbaijanis is 15,000 (as of 2014).
In Germany there are several Azerbaijani cultural associations as well as the German-Azerbaijani Forum eV, the German-Azerbaijani cultural association, the association of Azerbaijani academics, the Nizami Gandschavi cultural institute, the association of German-Azerbaijani friendship, the coordination center for Azerbaijanis in Germany and the Odlar Yuraiddu association in Berlin and the Azerbaijan cultural association Association of German-Azerbaijani Friendship in Cologne, Azerbaijani Cultural Association in Stuttgart, Azerbaijani Academic Association in Bochum, Azerbaijani-German Friendship and Cultural Association in Nuremberg and Azerbaijani Cultural Association "Güney" in Würzburg. They organize events with the aim of conveying Azerbaijan's culture and history to the German community and of maintaining contact with the Azerbaijanis living in Germany.
2008 was declared the “Year of Culture of Azerbaijan” in Germany. In the same year up to 100 different events about Azerbaijan were organized in 12 German cities.
Azerbaijanis in Russia
According to the 2010 census, the number of Azerbaijanis living in the Russian Federation is 603,070. However, the actual number of Azerbaijanis in Russia is much higher than census data.
The largest Azerbaijani cultural associations and communities in Russia can be found in Dagestan , Moscow , Khanty-Mansiysk , Krasnoyarsk , Rostov-on-Don , Saratov , Sverdlovsk Oblast , Samara and Stavropol .
Azerbaijanis in Turkey
According to the Looklex encyclopedia, 800,000 Azerbaijanis live in Turkey. This corresponds to 1.1% of the Turkish population. Azerbaijanis are the largest ethnic group in Iğdır city and the second largest ethnic minority in Kars .
Azerbaijanis in Georgia
About 6.5% of the population of Georgia are Azerbaijanis and they are the largest ethnic minority in Georgia. Azerbaijanis mainly inhabit rural areas such as Lower Kartlia , Kakheti , Inner Kartli , a region commonly known as Borjali .
