Ashley Henry

Ashley Henry (born November 1991 in South London ) is a British jazz musician ( piano , composition ) who is currently considered "one of the greatest jazz talents in Great Britain".

Act

Henry, whose musical interests are wide-ranging, studied at the Royal Academy of Music . After graduating in 2016, he performed with Jason Marsalis , Terence Blanchard , Jean Toussaint and at the International Piano Trio Festival with Robert Glasper . In the same year he was a finalist at the Unisia International Piano Competition in South Africa.

After two EPs, Henry's debut album Beautiful Vinyl Hunter was released in 2019 , which received a lot of critical acclaim due to its diversity; the NDR presented it as the “jazz album of the week”. He can also be heard on albums by Zara McFarlane and Makaya McCraven ( Universal Beings , 2018).
