Astro-Zombies - Robots of horror (Original title: The Astro-Zombies ) is an American horror film by the director Ted V. Mikels from 1968 .

action

CIA agent Holman is investigating murders in which organs were removed from corpses. He concludes that Dr. DeMarco, the former director of the Astro Space Laboratory, created a living being with a defective brain. Since he was kicked out, DeMarco has been hiding with his crippled assistant in an old house in the suburbs to be able to carry out his experiments with the human body in peace. Several foreign agents, including the exotic Satana, are interested in DeMarco's work.

When a laboratory assistant is mutilated, Holman uses one of his employees as bait for DeMarco. The plan works, one of the so-called astro-zombies attacks the woman and drives her to DeMarco's house. Satana and her assistant have also found DeMarco's whereabouts. Holman and his men surround the house. DeMarco, Satana and the Astro-Zombies are trapped. When living beings begin to murder indiscriminately, Satana shoots DeMarco. But before he dies, DeMarco can activate a self-destruct mechanism that destroys the house and everyone in it.

The lexicon of international films described the film as “a sloppy horror film that is primitive to the point of ridiculousness.” The Protestant film observer comes to a similar conclusion: “Primitively thought out and technically sloppy to the point of being ridiculous. For friends of science fiction horror an imposition! "
