Atsushi Yogō
Atsushi Yogō ( Japanese 余 郷 敦 , Yogō Atsushi ; born February 21, 1965 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a former Japanese racing car driver .
Career
Yogo had his first races in monoposto racing , where he competed in the Japanese Formula 3 championship . However, he soon switched to GT and sports car racing . From 1998 he was a regular starter in the Super GT , where he was third overall in the GT300 class in 2000. A success that he was able to repeat in 2004.
In 2000 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans . To the surprise of the professional world, he and his compatriot Hideo Fukuyama and the Belgian Bruno Lambert won the overall standings in the GT class in a Porsche 911 GT3-R . He competed seven times in the 24-hour race in France, and the 2000 class win remained his best result.
In 2009 he won the overall standings in the GT1 class of the Asian Le Mans Series . After the end of the 2012 season, he retired from professional racing.
