August Ferdinand Lueder

August Ferdinand Lueder (* October 1760 in Bielefeld ; † February 27, 1819 in Jena ) was a German economist and political scientist .

Live and act

Lueder studied in Göttingen and in 1786 became professor of history at the Collegium Carolinum in Braunschweig. In 1797 he became a ducal-Braunschweig Hofrat . Between 1810 and 1814 he worked as a full professor of philosophy in Göttingen and from 1817 to 1819 as professor honorarius of philosophy in Jena .

Lueder was one of the first in Germany to spread the teachings of Adam Smith . He also made services to the further development of statistics and translated travelogues from Dutch , English and French .
