August Knop

August Alfred Heinrich Knop (born September 25, 1903 in Boffzen an der Weser , † March 28, 1994 in Bad Wörishofen ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending school, August Knop earned his living as an engineer . In May 1925 he joined the NSDAP, in which his brothers Walter Knop and Wilhelm Knop were also active. In this he took over the office of local group leader in 1926. In 1929 he became NSDAP district leader and from May 9, 1931 also NSDAP district leader in Hanover.

In 1933 Knop became a member of the state parliament of Braunschweig . From 1934 to 1942 he was the district administrator for the Holzminden district . In 1941 he was appointed Gauleiter Deputy in South Hanover-Braunschweig . In 1942, Knop moved into the National Socialist Reichstag as a replacement for Hanns Kerrl , of which he was a member until the end of Nazi rule in spring 1945.
