August Ramminger
August Ramminger (born August 28, 1899 in Drackenstein , † November 29, 1975 in Gauting ) was a German journalist and politician ( CSU ).
Life and work
After graduating from primary school, attending agricultural school and graduating from high school, Ramminger took part in the First World War as a soldier in 1918/19 . He studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Mission Seminar in Ravengiersburg and then began studying German literature, economics, political science and journalism at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich , which he awarded the degree of Dr. phil. finished.
During the Weimar Republic, Ramminger worked as editor-in-chief at Straubinger Tagblatt . From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier and was editor-in-chief of the army newspaper of the First Army in Paris during the war . He also initially acted as head of the Berlin office of the Amsterdam- based Deutsche Zeitung in the Netherlands (DZN) , and later as head of the Groningen edition. Most recently he was appointed lieutenant in the reserve. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the British, from which he was released in October 1946.
After his release from captivity, Ramminger initially worked as a freelance journalist. He had been with the Passauer Neue Presse (PNP) since February 1949 , where from 1953 to 1964 he was Head of Politics and Economics and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hans Kapfinger . After retiring from his job, he went to Utting am Ammersee in 1965 and later moved to Buchendorf near Gauting .
Political party
Before 1933, Ramminger was a member of the BVP . He later joined the CSU and was temporarily deputy chairman of the CSU district association of Passau .
MP
Ramminger was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1965. In parliament he represented the constituency of Passau.
