August Roesener

August Theodor Robert Roesener (born March 17, 1888 in Mainz , † February 18, 1979 in Mühltal ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and district administrator of the Usingen district .

Life and work

August Roesener studied law and completed his studies with both state exams and a doctorate. He initially worked in administration and in 1925 became in-house counsel for the Darmstadt Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The focus of his work at the IHK was traffic planning. He was the author of the "overall plan for the expansion of the district express traffic in the Rhine-Main area". In 1943 he was dismissed for political reasons.

August Roesener was married to Helene, née Boy (* November 24, 1898 ; † July 12, 1967 ), a childhood friend of Winifred Wagner (1897–1980). The Roeseners were in close contact with Winifred Wagner until their death.

August Roesener joined the CDU after 1945. In 1948 he was elected as district administrator by a CDU-FDP coalition in the district council. So was Heinrich Mueller (SPD) voted. In 1952 Heinrich Müller took revenge and was re-elected as district administrator.

August Roesener set the focus of his work on the integration of refugees and housing policy. But he also set new accents in transport policy by setting up a bus network. He also initiated the construction of the district building.
