August Graf von Grote (born January 27, 1828 in Paris , † May 15, 1868 in Breese im Bruche ) was an officer in the Kingdom of Hanover , landowner and member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and the Customs Parliament .

Life

August von Grote came from the noble family Grote . From 1848 to 1853 he was a cavalry officer in the Hanoverian army . In 1853 he became a hereditary member of the First Chamber of the Estates Assembly of the Kingdom of Hanover . He was the owner of the Breese estate in Bruche near Dannenberg . In 1861 he hired Rudolf Rocholl as pastor for the manor chapel .

From 1867 until his death in May 1868 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Hanover 15 ( Lüchow , Uelzen , Dannenberg , Bleckede ), where he belonged to the parliamentary group of the federal constitutional association . In this capacity, he was briefly a member of the customs parliament in 1868, but he was no longer able to take part in its deliberations due to illness.
