Auguste-René-Marie Cardinal Dubourg (born September 30, 1842 in Loguivy-Plogras , France , † September 22, 1921 in Rennes ) was Bishop of Moulins and later Archbishop of Rennes .

Life

Auguste-René Dubourg received his philosophical and theological training in the seminary of Saint-Brieuc . He received on 22 December 1866, the sacrament of the priesthood and worked as a teacher at the minor seminary of Saint-Brieuc. Later he took on various tasks, including a. as vicar general and chapter vicar , true in the administration of his home diocese.

In 1893 Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Moulins. The episcopal ordination donated to him on April 16, 1893 Pierre-Frédéric Fallières , the bishop of Saint-Brieuc , co-consecrators were François Trégaro , bishop of Sées , and Étienne-Marie Potron, OFM , bishop of Gerico . In 1906 Pope Pius X made him head of the Archdiocese of Rennes. Pope Benedict XV took him on December 4, 1916 as a cardinal priest with the titular church Santa Balbina in the college of cardinals .

Auguste-René Dubourg died on September 22, 1921 in Rennes and was buried in the cathedral there.
