The Aura is a good eight kilometers long right tributary of the Sinn in the Main-Spessart district in the Bavarian Spessart .
Surname
The name Aura is derived from the Old High German Uraha . The defining word ur means aurochs and the basic word aha means watercourse . The explanation is a watercourse where aurochs lived. The body of water gave the municipality of Aura its name.

It rises in the Aura forest in a valley near Aura im Sinngrund and flows south. It meets its greatest tributary, the Fellach, in skins . At its mouth, the aura changes its direction of flow to the east. In Burgsinn , near the moated castle , it flows into the flood ditch, a tributary of the Sinn .
