From the bottom of my soul is an American drama directed by Joseph Greco from 2006. Greco, who also wrote the screenplay, was inspired for this film by his own childhood with a schizophrenic mother.

action

Mary Marino has schizophrenia and refuses to take her medication. So she has to have her husband John repeatedly admitted to a mental hospital because he doesn't know what else to do. But most of all her son Chris suffers from the situation. His mother embarrasses him in public - he is teased about it at school. The many treatments are a heavy burden on the family budget. Nevertheless, the technically gifted family man fulfilled his dream of building a boat. Mary cannot be there for the first sailing trip because the medication puts her in a gloomy state of mind. She has apparently decided to obey the medical prescriptions. The three of them make up for the originally planned trip as a complete family later.
