The Autostrada R 7.1 ( Albanian for motorway R 7.1 ) is a 47 kilometer long motorway in Kosovo , which is partially under construction. It is supposed to connect the Kosovar capital Pristina via Gjilan with Dheu i Bardhë at the border crossing Končulj to Serbia . The road is also known as the Autostrada Prishtinë – Gjilan-Dheu i Bardhë . Construction work on the first section, 22.3 kilometers in length, began on April 15, 2018. The plan is to open the motorway in 2020. The route to the east of Kosovo is to be significantly shortened.

Routing

From Lipjan, the motorway is to follow the course of the existing M 25.2 via Gjilan and the M 25.3 , but not to replace them. At the border, the motorway is to merge with the existing Serbian federal highway 41 .

The total length of the route is 47.1 kilometers and will include four bridges. The width of the motorway will be 32 meters.

In the future, the highway from Lipjan should consist of, direction Shtime to Duhla on the highway R 7 continue. The construction costs amount to 260 million euros.
