Autumn Patricia Phillips (née Kelly , born May 3, 1978 in Montreal ) is the wife of Peter Phillips , the son of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips , a member of the British royal family.

Life

Autumn Phillips is the daughter of advertising man Brian Kelly and hairdresser Kitty McCarthy. She was baptized Catholic on June 18, 1978 in St John Fisher Parish Church in Pointe-Claire, Québec . Her parents divorced when she was eight years old; both got married again. She has an older brother, chef Kevin Kelly, a twin brother, roofer Christopher Kelly, and two half-siblings from her father's second marriage (Patrick and Jessica Kelly). Autumn grew up in Cedar Park, Pointe Claire, an English-speaking city near Montreal. There she attended St John Fisher Catholic Primary School and later St Thomas Secondary School . She studied Sinology at McGill University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts . During her studies she worked as a waitress, model, extra and hostess . In 2003 she worked as a management consultant. In 2008 she worked as an assistant to the presenter and journalist Sir Michael Parkinson. On April 30, 2008 it was announced that she had changed from the Catholic to the Anglican denomination. Autumn Phillips is a Canadian citizen.

marriage

In 2003, Autumn met her future husband, Peter Phillips, while she was working as a hostess at the Grand Prix . The engagement was announced by Buckingham Palace on July 28, 2007. The Queen approved the marriage at a session of the Privy Council on April 9, 2008. Autumn and Peter had already attended several royal family events together. The wedding took place on May 17th, 2008 in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Since then, both have lived in an annex to Gatcombe Park , Princess Anne's country home.

The couple's separation was announced in February 2020.

The couple have two daughters, Savannah (born December 29, 2010 in Gloucester ) and Isla Elizabeth (born March 29, 2012 in Gloucester).
